Cornus masGele kornoelje

Cornus mas is een middelgrote struik of kleine boom die vroeg in het jaar opvalt door zijn rijke gele bloei in februari–maart, vaak nog vóór het blad uitloopt. In de zomer verschijnen glanzend rode steenvruchten die eetbaar zijn en rijk aan vitamine C. Het blad is frisgroen en verkleurt in de herfst geel tot rood. Een waardevolle soort voor tuinen, parken en voedselbossen, met hoge sierwaarde én ecologische betekenis.
